Chinese Government Scholarships

中国政府奖学金

(Applications open 1 January 2017 and close 1 March 2017)

Overview

The Chinese Government has set up a range of scholarship programs to sponsor international students, teachers and scholars to study and conduct research in Chinese universities. The enrolment and administration of these programs is carried out by the China Scholarship Council on behalf of the Chinese Ministry of Education. Australians submit their applications via the Chinese Embassy in Australia (Canberra).

The scholarships are available for Chinese language study, degrees studies (Bachelor, Master and PhD) and academic research. In some cases undergraduate students undertake one to two years of Chinese language preparatory study before completing a full degree at a Chinese university.

A full scholarship covers tuition, free on-campus accommodation or subsidised off-campus accommodation, a living allowance and comprehensive medical insurance. Partial scholarships are also available.

Important: Applications are now open. Applicants need to provide extensive supporting documentation – please allow enough time to do this before the deadline.
