I am writing to thank you for the amazing tour I have just been on. This has been a life changing experience with ongoing implications for closer ties to China and a mutually beneficial relationship with the schools we visited. Informed conversation and experiences such as the tour will change perceptions and fears of a global future.

Rachel Power,  Australian Christian College,  Albany  (2018 tour participant)

It was an amazing, mind-blowing trip, thank you. My understanding of Chinese culture is far deeper than previously and I have already been able to help more effectively some of my Chinese parents at school.

Julie Harris,  Guildford Grammar School,  Perth  (2018 tour participant)

Expressions of interest are now open for the 2020 tour, which next year will be held from 10 to 18 April. Please complete and return the EOI form as soon as possible - we need eight confirmed applications for the tour to run. The closing date is 24th January 2020.

The tour will be held with the support of Confucius Institute Headquarters and the University of Western Australia’s partner, Zhejiang University. It is a unique professional development opportunity for school leaders; there is nothing like experiencing the dynamism and scale of contemporary China first hand.

The study tour will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou (capital city of Zhejiang Province). You will visit famous historic and cultural sites to develop your understanding of China’s culture and history and its modern day development. You will also visit several schools , observe classes and participate in a Principals’ Forum in Hangzhou . A coordinator from the Confucius Institute will accompany the tour and provide interpreting and guide services. A professional English speaking tour guide will assist during sightseeing activities.
